Good evening! This is Kevin Hudson, Principal of Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy.
From Monday, December 15 through Friday, December 19, students enrolled in courses with a state-mandated End-of-Course Exam or CTE Post Assessment will take those exams. Students will be given their specific testing schedule on December 11th. Some students will also attend days at the end of the week for remediation and/or retesting of EOC exams. Attendance will be taken daily. Students must report to 1st Period for 10 minutes each day for the purpose of taking attendance. Absences recorded in 1st Period will not affect athletic eligibility or academic standing. All absences will be marked as an unexcused absence. Following 1st Period, students will transition to their exam testing location.
Perfect Attendance:
To maintain perfect attendance, students must attend at least half a day (8:10 a.m. - 10:10 a.m.) each day, Monday through Friday.
Looking ahead, January 5, 2026, is the first day of the 3rd quarter. DCS traditional schools are out that day, meaning it is a shuttle-only day for Valley Academy students.
Seniors and Super Seniors will have Cap and Gown pictures on Friday, January 16, 2026.
