If students are needing bus transportation to campus during orientation days, they are to report to their homeschool by 7:30 to catch a bus to Valley. Temperatures will be taken and a screening sheet will be filled out prior to them getting on the bus. Buses should be back to their homeschool sites in the afternoon around 3:30. If students are going to drive to campus or be dropped off, please report to the secondary entrance of the school where there will be stations set up to take temperatures and complete screening sheets. For orientation days, our school day will be from 8:15-3:00.
While students are on campus for orientation days, breakfast and lunch will be available for all students and will be free for all students. Students will be expected to eat lunch in their classroom. Students can pack their lunch if they would like.
Water fountains will be turned off due to guidelines from the Department of Health and Human Services, therefore, students are encouraged to bring water bottles to have with them during the day.
As expected by the Governor and Davidson County Schools, masks are to be worn both on buses as well as on our campus here at Valley.
For all of our students enrolled at Davidson County Community College, you should have received a survey from them through your DCCC email. Please complete the survey indicating your preference for college class’s. Please keep in mind that if you choose or have to report to DCCC’s campus during our remote learning, it will be up to each student to get transportation. We will not be able to provide transportation during remote learning.
All of this information will be posted on our website and sent by email to the students by tomorrow afternoon.
As always, thank you for your patience as we work through this unique opening of the school year. We are excited to start the 2020-21 school year here at Valley.
