"Spend a Day" Events

Valley Academy hosts "Spend a Day" events in late January/early February for all interested 8th graders in the Davidson County, Lexington City, and Thomasville City school districts. An information session is held from 7:30-8:30 AM and each student shadows a Valley Academy student from 8:30-11:30 AM. 

Parents and students will be responsible for transportation to and from Valley Academy that day, and students will be expected to return to their middle school for the second half of the day.

Valley Academy is a comprehensive public high school of choice in Lexington, NC specializing in four career pathways: Health Sciences, Global Logistics, Computer Programming, and Advanced Manufacturing. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to earn credits towards an Associate’s degree through its partnership with Davidson County Community College and have the option of participating in a fifth ‘super-senior’ year that allows students to continue taking college courses and engage in internships for highly skilled in-demand technical careers. Valley is a project-based learning, 1:1 school where every student has access to a laptop and other high-tech tools but also is expected to problem-solve and engage in hands-on projects.
