School History

Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy opened its doors in Fall 2012 with a beginning cohort of 46 ninth graders. Funded by a Workforce Innovation grant from the NC General Assembly, Valley Academy heralded a new early college model, streamlining capable first-generation college students into highly employable career pathways that would fortify the local workforce and therefore improve overall economic outlooks for local industries and communities.
